Tutor code of conduct
The standards every Sino Tutor tutor agrees to uphold. They exist to keep learners safe and to protect the trust that makes the platform work.
Learners, parents and Sino Tutor place real trust in every tutor - with their time, their money and sometimes their children's education. This code of conduct sets out the standards that protect that trust. Every tutor agrees to it, and breaching it can lead to suspension or removal.
Be honest and accurate
- Represent your qualifications, experience and identity truthfully.
- Only offer to teach subjects and grades you are genuinely competent to teach.
- Keep your profile, rate and availability up to date.
Put learners first
- Come to every session prepared, on time and ready to teach.
- Teach for understanding, not shortcuts - never complete a learner's assessment for them in a way that breaches their school's rules.
- Give honest, encouraging feedback that helps a learner improve.
Keep everyone safe
- Treat every learner and parent with respect, patience and professionalism.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries at all times, especially with minors.
- Never harass, discriminate against, exploit or endanger anyone.
- Raise any safeguarding concern with our team immediately.
Protect privacy
- Use the personal information you receive only to deliver your sessions.
- Do not share a learner's or parent's details with anyone else.
- Keep your account secure and never let someone else tutor under your name.
Communicate professionally
- Respond to booking requests and messages promptly and courteously.
- Honour confirmed bookings; if you must cancel, do so as early as possible.
- Keep communication on-platform where you can, so there is a clear record.
Reporting and consequences
If a tutor falls short of these standards, learners and parents can report it, and our team will investigate. Depending on the seriousness, we may issue a warning, suspend a listing, or remove a tutor permanently. Serious safety concerns are acted on immediately.
